| Biological Activity | This antibody can be used in ELISA assays. It recognizes human CD35 (CD21), a polymorphic protein expressed as four allelic variants with molecular weight of 160, 190, 220 and 250 kDa. CD35 is expressed on all peripheral blood cells with the exception of platelets, natural killer cells and most T cells. It binds immune complexes opsonized with the activated complement components C3b and C4b, leading to their clearance in the liver and spleen. |
