Biological Activity | This antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation, and flow cytometry. It also inhibits the cytolic T lymphocyte (CTL) activity. It recognizes CD2 (also known as LFA-2, or E-rosette receptor), a 50 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on T cells, NK cells, cortical thymocytes and most malignant cells of T cell origin. It binds CD58 (LFA-3) to mediate cell adhesion and it is also receptor for CD59, and CD48. CD2 plays a critical role in activation of T cells. |
