Biological Activity | This polyclonal antibody reacts in ELISA using the immunizing peptide and it recognizes PUMA alpha (23 kDa) and additional protein band of 60 kDa in Western Blot of HeLa cell lysate (1: 1,000 dilution). PUMA (p53 up-regulated modulator of apoptosis) belongs to the Bcl-2 family and may be a direct mediator of p53-induced apoptosis. PUMA gene encodes two BH3 domain-containing proteins termed PUMA-alpha and PUMA-beta, both bind Bcl-2, localize to the mitochondria, and induce Cytochrome c release and apoptosis in response to p53. |
Formulation | Solution at 0.5 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial. |
