Biological Activity | This polyclonal antibody reacts in ELISA and Western blot assays (1: 500 dilution) using the immunizing peptide. N-Myc is a 49.5 kDa nuclear phosphoprotein that contains a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper domain involved in DNA binding and protein dimerization. It regulates gene expression by dimerizing with itself or other helix-loop-helix proteins and this complex binds to DNA E-box sequences of regulated genes. N-Myc is expressed in high levels during embryonic development and in the adult during B-cell differentiation. It is overexpressed in a variety of tumors, aminly neuroblastomas and is associated with rapid progression and poor prognosis. |
Formulation | Solution at 1 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial. |
