| Biological Activity | This antibody recognizes specifically Aeromonas caviae, it has not cross reactivity with both Aeromonas salmonicida and Aeromonas sobria and can be used in ELISA assay (1: 2,000 dilution) and Western blot (1: 1,000 dilution). Aeromonas caviae is a Gram negative and facultative anaerobic bacterium that occurs ubiquitously in aquatic environments. It can infect a wide range of fish species and it is usually considered secondary or opportunistic bacterium. Affected fish are usually stressed, have a weakened immune system or have skin lesions. A. caviae is responsible for severe skin lesions in fish and it can cause gastroenteritis in humans. |
| Formulation | Solution at 1.0 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial. |
