DescriptionIgG fraction from rabbit polyclonal antibody obtained by immunizing rabbits with a mixture of three synthetic peptides corresponding to aa86-96 (STGTFTVPRLK), aa146-158 (KRDYDVTDDEMSI), and aa242-255 (SLARYAFDFYEMTS) of the PPV coat protein. The IgG fraction was purified using Protein G-Sepharose.

Biological ActivityThis polyclonal antibody reacts with extracts of PPV-infected plants in DAS-ELISA as a capture antibody (1: 2,000 dilution) and Western blot assay (1: 500 dilution). PPV belongs to the genus Potyvirus of the family Potyviridae and is the causal agent of sharka disease of stone fruits crops. PPV genome consists of a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA encapsidated by a single glycosylated coat protein (34 kDa). This protein is also involved in systemic movement of the virus. PPV has flexuous filamentous morphology and is transmitted by an insect and grafting.
FormulationSolution at 1 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial.
